PARTICIPATE

If you would like to become a member of the Costa Quebrada Association, the process is straightforward: simply pay the membership fee. This payment also serves as your formal application for membership.

Once we have received the fee along with the associated personal information, the Board of Directors will review and formally approve your application. You will then be invited to participate in upcoming meetings, events, and members’ assemblies.

We look forward to welcoming you!

THE COSTA QUEBRADA ASSOCIATION

  • The Costa Quebrada Association was legally established in 2003 to formalise a citizens’ collective originally known as the Group for the Recovery of Costa Quebrada, which emerged in late 2002 in response to the Prestige oil spill.
  • The association is registered in the Register of Associations of Cantabria under registration number 3383,
  • and is also listed in the municipal register of Santa Cruz de Bezana.
  • Its statutory aims focus on the protection, conservation and enhancement of the Cantabrian coastline, with particular attention to the coastal area known as Costa Quebrada.
  • The governing body of the association is the Board of Directors, composed of a President, a Vice-President and a Secretary-Treasurer.
  • All board members are appointed by the General Assembly and carry out their duties on a voluntary basis, without financial remuneration.
  • Since its foundation, the association has been strongly rooted in volunteer work, while also relying on a technical team responsible for the most demanding areas in terms of workload and responsibility.
  • Personnel and operational costs are covered through cooperation agreements, institutional partnerships and various self-financing initiatives, which together support the association’s management structure and ongoing activities.
  • The technical team is organised into several areas of work, each coordinated by at least one designated person.
