The host city for the 16th National Meeting of the CPG–SGE will be Santander, the largest urban center within the Costa Quebrada UNESCO Global Geopark.

Santander is also the main urban hub of Cantabria, with excellent transport connections by road, rail, coach, and air, as well as a wide range of accommodation options capable of meeting high demand.

Within the UNESCO Global Geopark, officially designated in April 2025, outreach activities focused on natural and cultural heritage have been carried out for over ten years. These initiatives address both formal and non-formal educational levels and include actions aimed at promoting sustainable tourism. All of this contributes to a local sustainable development project and to the conservation, promotion, and enhancement of geological heritage.
