The host city for the 16th National Meeting of the CPG–SGE will be Santander, the largest urban centre within the Costa Quebrada UNESCO Global Geopark.

Santander is also the main urban hub of Cantabria, offering excellent transport connections by road, rail, coach and air, as well as a wide range of accommodation options capable of meeting high levels of demand.

Within the UNESCO Global Geopark—officially designated in April 2025—outreach activities focused on natural and cultural heritage have been carried out for over a decade. These initiatives address both formal and non-formal educational settings and include actions aimed at promoting sustainable tourism. Together, they contribute to a local sustainable development project and to the conservation, promotion and enhancement of geological heritage.
